Visitors to ABZ Business Park at Aberdeen Airport will be greeted by two of the Wild Dolphin statues which raised more than £500,000 in a charity auction.

The Wild Dolphins initiative was a stunning success is raising awareness and funds for The ARCHIE Foundation, the official charity of the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital, and the Whale and Dolphin Conservation.

Fifty two hand painted statues were installed across Aberdeen over the summer before being sold at an auction which raised a magnificent £531,000.

ABZ’s owners played their part, paying more than £20,000 for two fine examples, which now grace the 54 acre business park and home to a growing number of international oil, gas and technology companies and stylish, affordable hotels.

One of the marine works of art is aeronautical themed and is titled WW100 Trevor Warphin, while the other doffs its cap to the local north east tongue and is named Doric Dialect.

ABZ director Paul Stevenson, said: “The Wild Dolphins project really captured the imagination of Aberdeen residents and visitors and was a truly inspired way to raise awareness and funds for two very deserving charities.

“We hope their presence at ABZ will raise a smile with staff of the various businesses which have chosen ABZ as their preferred location and we are delighted to have contributed in a small way to these worthy causes.”
